Short-Term Grant Recipient: Mark Wrathall

The Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship is thrilled that Dr. Mark Wrathall will join us as a short-term research grant recipient for August 2021. 

Dr. Wrathall received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. at Harvard Law School. He is now Professor of Philosophy at the University of Oxford and a Tutorial Fellow at Corpus Christi College.  He specializes in 19th and 20th century European philosophy, with a particular focus on the existential and phenomenological traditions of thought.  His current areas of research involve the philosophy of agency, philosophy of art, and philosophy of religion.

Before coming to Oxford, he was Professor of Philosophy in the Philosophy Department at the University of California Riverside, Professor of Philosophy at Brigham Young University, and a teaching fellow at Stanford Law School.
