Art Highlight: Bible Illustrations

This artwork and its accompanying caption were created by Meranda Brodowski, a student artist and designer at the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship. Meranda is from California and has worked at the Maxwell Institute since January. She is a Fine Arts Major at Brigham Young University, with an emphasis in technology. She strives to create inspiring artwork that represents her faith and testimony.

Titled: Bible Illustrations

A large amount of the illustrative work I do is inspired by scripture, and stories from the Bible have become one of my favorite things to depict. I recently finished a personal project I had been working on, and I have been unsure of what I should challenge myself to create next.
As someone who works to help promote the Maxwell Institute, the new initiatives had been on my mind a lot. I love that the Maxwell Institute has emphasized the Bible as one of the primary sources of study. It reminded me how much my testimony of God and Jesus Christ is founded in the Bible stories I heard during early childhood. I decided I would start creating my own small illustrations of those stories.
The Maxwell Institute has demonstrated that scripture study is limitless, and it has helped me recognize that my study can take the form of artwork. I hope that as I visualize the stories in my own way that my depth of understanding will be strengthened.
