An Invitation to Discover the Book of Mormon Studies Podcast

I'm Rosalynde Welch, host of the new Maxwell Institute Book of Mormon Studies podcast. I've been on a lifelong journey not only to understand the meaning of the Book of Mormon, but to let its message change my heart. The words of prophets and the influence of the Spirit have lit the way.

Another resource I've turned to are the writings of academic men and women who, for eight decades now, have patiently, faithfully studied the book to clarify its internal architecture and its witness of Jesus Christ. I've found that this work lights up my mind and my heart. That's why I wanted to create this podcast: to invite you into the world of Book of Mormon scholarship and give you a guided tour of the highlights.

The Maxwell Institute has long been a hub for serious study of Book of Mormon, and we'd like to open our virtual doors to a broad audience of Book of Mormon readers who are ready to dig deeper. Maybe you're just curious and want to dip your toe into these ideas, or maybe you're already well-versed and want to know what's new in the field.

Either way, I think you'll find enriching discussion of the Book of Mormon itself and of the best scholarship out there. Every episode features me in conversation with a different Book of Mormon expert. We've carefully sifted what we think are the "best books" and most important frameworks to jumpstart your own study of the book.

By the end of the season, I hope you'll have a stronger grasp of the Book of Mormon as a sacred text, and of the field of Book of Mormon studies. Most of all, I hope you'll have a renewed hunger to read the scriptures yourself with greater understanding, intent, and patience. So I hope you'll join me this year and together we'll explore the world of Book of Mormon studies.
