Ancient Christians wins 2022 AML Religious Nonfiction Award

Ancient Christians: An Introduction for Latter-day Saints has won the 2022 Religious Nonfiction award from The Association for Mormon Letters (AML). Congratulations to book editors Jason Combs, Mark Ellison, Catherine Taylor and Kristian Heal.

Ancient Christians is a collection of essays written by scholars of the New Testament. It focuses on Christianity's first six centuries, and invites Latter-day Saints to get to know their religious predecessors more intimately.

This award was presented to the book's editors on April 29, 2023 during the annual awards ceremony hosted by The Association for Mormon Letters.

Each year, awards are given to the best work "by, for, and about Mormons" that also promote the "productions and study of Mormon literature." These are juried awards chosen by a panel of judges and presented at an annual conference in the spring. Books published the previous year are selected.

The Association for Mormon Letters announced:"Ancient Christians: An Introduction for Latter-day Saints is a beautiful book. Whether it is approached intellectually, artistically, stylistically, or devotionally, readers will find much to linger on and to love about the winner of the AML award for Religious Nonfiction... Ancient Christians is an invaluable and beautiful book that will be an exquisite addition to any LDS Studies library for years to come."
