Dr. John Gee transferred to BYU's Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages

After many years of service in BYU's Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship, Dr. John Gee has been moved to the university's Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages. Gee joins his new department as William (Bill) Gay Research Professor. The William 'Bill' Gay research endowment, which funds Dr. Gee's position, remains in the Maxwell Institute, where it continues to fund research projects aligned with its founding vision. In his new academic department, Dr. Gee pursues research and publication on Latter-day Saint scripture and the ancient world and may teach courses related to his academic discipline as assigned by department leadership. The Institute wishes him well in his new academic home.
