Sarah Skriloff is the communications and publications assistant at the Neal A. Maxwell Institute, where she updates the website and assists with social media strategy and graphic design. A native New Yorker and junior at Brigham Young University, Sarah is studying Sociology with an emphasis in research, and is obtaining a minor in Gerontology. Sarah’s academic research with various professors focuses on multi-disciplinary approaches to improving hospital experiences and studying how technology can encourage people to exercise. Sarah loves being involved in various on-campus organizations, including the BYU-UXD club, BYU Honors department, and the BYU Neuromechanics Research Group, and is she is looking forward to a career in Design Research.
Sarah completed a User Experience Design internship in 2015, and has loved bringing the principles she learned to the Maxwell Institute. Before joining the Maxwell Institute, Sarah worked at two major advertising agencies in New York and Idaho as a social media specialist and an account executive. Sarah currently runs The Girl in the Check Scarf, a design and fashion website. She was named one of the “Top 10 Bloggers Under 18” by GuestOfAGuest.com in 2012, and Best Blogger of 2013 by Sarcasteen.com. Through her blog she’s worked with multiple companies, including IBM, 3M, Kohl’s, and dozens of others.
