Kris Kryscynski studies female devotion in early modern Italy, with an emphasis on depictions of the Virgin Mary and female saints.  Her work with Dr Taylor follows this thematic line in analyzing early Christian representations of women.  Kris is interested generally in understanding how women of different time periods understood themselves and their connection to God through art.  She hopes to show her daughters that God has answered faithful women’s prayers in all time periods.
