The Maxwell Institute is a dynamic research community dedicated to disciple-scholars. We’re happy to announce that in order to better serve those scholars we’re being joined by Sandra Shurtleff. She is the new staff assistant to executive director, J. Spencer Fluhman.
“We’re thrilled to have Sandra join the Institute,” Fluhman said. “She brings creativity, smarts, and dedication to the Institute. She’ll work closely with our administrative team to ensure that our visiting scholars and faculty can do their very best work here. Her diligence and energy will add to an already-vibrant scholarly community.”
Shurtleff graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Middle East Studies. After graduation she served a mission for the LDS Church in Campinas, Brazil, and fell in love with both the language and culture. She’s worked as an office specialist and administrative assistant at BYU and Utah Valley University. Sandra taught LDS Seminary for a semester in Spanish Fork before deciding to return to BYU. She enjoys traveling, writing music, playing sports, and being with family and friends.
We welcome her to the Maxwell Institute team!
