Join us for a Sustainability FHE tonight!

BYU Green Week 2023 kicks off tonight with a sustainability-themed family home evening. Join BYU Sustainability and the Maxwell Institute at 7PM to learn about how two professors and disciple-scholars strive to be stewards. Ask questions during a Q+A session, and stay for pizza and greens.

The two speakers will be Dr. George Handley and Dr. Steven Peck.

Dr. George Handley is a professor of interdisciplinary humanities here at BYU, and has taught since 1998. He is the author of The Hope and Nature, and If Truth Were A Child. Dr. Handley’s research, creative writing, and civic engagement all explore the connections between literature, religion, and the environment.

Dr. Steven Peck is an associate professor of biology, and a visiting scholar at the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship. He is the author of Evolving Faith and Science: the Key to Theology. Dr. Peck’s research focuses on evolutionary ecology, entomology, and in Philosophy of Science.

Both Dr. Handley and Dr. Peck are advocates for sustainability and stewardship over the earth.
