EB 402

This week’s brown bag guests are Andy Reed (assistant professor of Church History and Doctrine) and Shon Hopkin (associate professor of Ancient Scripture and Chair of the Richard L. Evans Religious Outreach Council).

After four years of ongoing dialogue among Jewish and Latter-day Saint scholars, Hopkin and Reed will lead a discussion of the joys, accomplishments, and challenges experienced with this effort to build bridges and increase understanding among scholars and communities. They will discuss the history of the dialogue in Los Angeles, Provo, and most recently in Israel which included Rabbi Melchior and Elder Cook as keynote speakers. The title of their presentation is “Covenants and Communities: Assessing Four Years of the Academic Jewish-Latter-day Saint Dialogue Project.”
