The Maxwell Institute website has always been a complex creature. That is part of what makes it a valuable resource. This new site has been in the works for many months, and we’re still refining details and functions so that we can present you with the best possible site. We invite your feedback and hope that you will be patient as we continue to improve this resource.
Where are all my saved links and favorites from the old site? All URLs from the Institute’s old website should now automatically forward to their location on the new site. If you find an old link that does not properly forward, contact us here with the URL information.
Are past publications from the Maxwell Institute still available online? Yes. In fact, we will be offering more material on the website than ever before. We plan to continue providing online access to all our past publications. You can access all our past material on the new Publications page by clicking “Publications” on the menu at the top of the page, or selecting the particular publication you’re looking for from the drop-down options. You can also click Publications on the slider at the bottom of the page. No subscription is necessary to access most of our past publications.
Are digital subscriptions of the Institute’s journals available? We are in the process of setting up digital-only subscriptions for the Mormon Studies Review and the Journal of Book of Mormon Studies. We are in the process of making many of our classic books as well as new titles available as ebooks on Amazon and other outlets.
What are the Research Initiatives? The Maxwell Institute is made up of several entities, which our new site seeks to make much more evident. Their individual webpages are managed by the heads of each initiative, and will serve as repositories for a lot of interesting information. Keep checking back for more updates.
Is a search engine available on the new site? We plan to overhaul the currently-ineffective search feature. In the meantime, you can search within our site using Google.com. Begin your search with “site:mi.byu.edu” followed by the terms you are searching for.
What happened to Multimedia? We’re still in the process of designing a new Multimedia page. In the meantime, check out our new YouTube page here, as well as our new Maxwell Institute podcast here and in iTunes.
